Over the last 10 years, our mission has been to EMPOWER, EQUIP and ENCOURAGE urban communities through the arts . We reflect the urban voice & use it to shed light in dark times, mirror the disenfranchised, to illuminate & stimulate thoughts that are life changing & to provide a forum for all who experience to come together a healthy community.
We do this through three different branches within our organization:
a.) Quality performance based productions,
b.) Relevant arts educational programming
c.) Life changing ministry.
CBG Arts vision is to expose 3000 youth and young adults to the power of the arts by 2023. We want to Inspire and challenge the appreciation and work ethic of the arts while instilling a calling where all those who work with us can grow into the leaders they have been called to be.
We exist because art is one of the greatest measures of a society's influence and legacy. We stand behind these core values found within our mission statement:
Quality: We are committed to providing quality programs and related services to the community, audiences and artists we serve.
Urban: We provide a voice and are sensitive to the needs and capabilities of the urban youth & young adult. We believe everyone is ready to inspire or be inspired, that all of us have something to teach or learn and a giant that just needs to be awakened.
Life Changing: Authentic experiences, bonds and spaces fuel us. We want to be intentional with everything that we do.
Relevant: We believe our work and programming should reflect society while serving as its conscience.
CBG Arts has adopted several schools in the past such as St Marys Academy High School in Inglewood, La Salle Elementary School in South LA, Windsor Hills Elementary School and partnering with Inglewood Theater Group to offer FREE workshops for their students providing audition tips and introduction of acting, singing and dance classes.
